In one way this was an interesting book. The parts that you could follow i thought were well written. The only problem I had with this book is there are so many side stories going on and the author jumps back and forth so much the book is really hard to follow.Product details

does not get the point. Manny of the books would sell if we had an idea as to what the books are about! If we are lucky, someone who has read it, will wright about it, letting us know about the book! Can't tell if we are going to wanet to buy it if we only see the cover! -\
First Nations/Anglo Canadian writer Pauline Johnson's works have long since passed out of fashion, but the best of her poetry and prose are certainly worth reading. This once famous collection of her prose writings is well worth spending time with. The largest work is a seventy-odd page biography of her English mother, a childhood victim of abuse and neglect, who journeyed to North America as a little girl, stayed, married a Canadian Indian chief and lived a mostly happy adult life, is oddly moving. It paints a haunting picture of an innocent world still full of possibilities such as no longer exist in the twenty-first century.
The other works, both fiction and non-fiction are equally fine.
The Victorian novel and melodrama are clearly influences here, but the clarity of Johnson's vision is really special.
Good book
